KPAC presents WEATHERING WITH YOU as part of our Staff Picks series, selected by our very own Kenworthy staff. This month’s film was chosen by Jared Grieb. Set during a period of exceptionally rainy weather, high-school boy Hodaka Morishima runs away from his troubled rural home to Tokyo and befriends an orphan girl who can manipulate the weather. Beautifully animated and narratively engaging, Weathering with You further establishes writer-director Makoto Shinkai as a singularly talented filmmaker. Japanese with English subtitles.
