“A birth-to-death character study, ‘Train Dreams’ is a meditation on the beauty of everyone and everything, how we are connected to both the earth and those who walked it before us.”
— Brian Tallerico, RogerEbert.com
KPAC presents TRAIN DREAMS. Based on Denis Johnson’s beloved novella, Train Dreams is the moving portrait of Robert Grainier, a logger and railroad worker who leads a life of unexpected depth and beauty in the rapidly-changing America of the early 20th Century. A gorgeous meditation on America, ably shouldered by one of Joel Edgerton’s very best performances, Train Dreams takes on mythic proportions while maintaining an intimate emotional delicacy. Filmed in our region and set in the Idaho Panhandle, this magnificent film captures a part of our local history—you won’t want to miss it.
