“In these times when all risk is assumed by CGI effects, Keaton’s squealing funny, exquisitely timed, death-defying leaps are all the more breathtaking.”
— Kate Muir, The Times (UK)
KPAC presents THE GENERAL as part of our Centennial Series, featuring one iconic film from each decade the Kenworthy has been operating. After being rejected by the Confederate military, not realizing it was due to his crucial civilian role, an engineer must single-handedly recapture his beloved locomotive after it is seized by Union spies and return it through enemy lines. Brilliantly filmed and fueled with classic physical comedy, The General captures Buster Keaton at his timeless best. Concessions will be priced as if it were the 1920s, with a small popcorn and soda costing only a dime!
