Fall Fundraiser: Metropolis with Live Score

Thursday, October 5 at 7:30 PM

“One of the last examples of the imaginative — but often monstrous — grandeur of the Golden Period of the German film, Metropolis is a spectacular example of Expressionist design.”
— New Yorker
KPAC presents a live electronic soundtrack to accompany Fritz Lang’s sci-fi masterpiece, METROPOLIS (1927) as part our Kenworthy Annual Fall Fundraiser! The score will be performed by Arman Bohn, who has even crafted some of the synths himself!
Doors will open at 6 PM, kicking off with an exciting movie poster sale extravaganza! The Kenworthy has amassed a treasure trove of posters over the years, with a collection exceeding 300. We’re thrilled to offer these posters for sale to our audience before the screening. Keep an eye out for the list of posters and images that will be up for grabs.
But wait, there’s more! Before the screening begins, we’ll engage your film knowledge with three rounds of thrilling movie trivia. The winners of each round will be rewarded with the ultimate cinematic prize: FREE MOVIES FOR A YEAR at the Kenworthy! The entry fee for each round of trivia will be $5.
There will also be a special preshow to honor the many graphic designers, artists, and video editors who’ve built and sustained our special film culture.
