LANGUAGE, TIME, AND THE LIMITS OF CONTROL
Bryce Blankenship, Senior Instructor of Philosophy at University of Idaho, will discuss how our measurements and language shape the way we perceive reality. Are we bound by a linear view of time, or can we imagine it as something more interconnected and fluid? This talk will explore Arrival and its ideas about language, perception, free will, and the illusion of control, inviting audiences to consider how expanding our ways of thinking might expand our experience of the world.
An initiative of the COOLIDGE CORNER THEATRE, with major support from the ALFRED P. SLOAN FOUNDATION.
