Kubrick Fest: A Clockwork Orange

“Kubrick’s contributions are his wit and his eye. The wit, too much at times, is as biting as in Dr. Strangelove, and the production, while of another order, is as spectacular as in 2001.”
— Gene Siskel, Chicago Tribune
KPAC presents A CLOCKWORK ORANGE as part of our Kubrick Fest series. In an England of the future, Alex and his “Droogs” spend their nights getting high before embarking on “a little of the old ultraviolence.”  After he’s jailed for murder, Alex submits to behavior modification technique to earn his freedom; he’s conditioned to abhor violence. Disturbing and thought-provoking, A Clockwork Orange is a cold, dystopian nightmare with a very dark sense of humor and masterfully directed by Stanley Kubrick.
