KPAC presents FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS as part of our Staff Picks series, selected by our very own Kenworthy staff. This month’s film was chosen by Isabella Noe. In 1971, journalist Raoul Duke heads to Las Vegas with his unhinged attorney, Dr. Gonzo, to cover a motorcycle race, only to tumble into a full-blown psychedelic odyssey. Director Terry Gilliam and an all-star cast, headlined by Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro, show no mercy in bringing Hunter S. Thompson’s excoriating dissection of the American way of life to the screen, creating a film both hilarious and savage.
