Join Disability Action Center NW and the Kenworthy Theatre for this presentation of Ride with Larry. A powerful and inspiring documentary film that follows Larry Smith, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease over 20 years ago. Larry wants to do one last big thing before its too late: ride his bike 300 miles across his state of South Dakota to inspire other people living with Parkinson’s and to prove that sometimes the best cure is to live life to the fullest. Panel discussion on current therapies and research, and use of medical marijuana to follow the film. Experts include occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech therapists from Pullman Regional Hospital that work with Parkinson’s patients. There will also be an expert to talk about use of medical marijuana as a form of treatment.
Film is free, but donations are accepted. All funds raised go towards an accessible stage lift for the theater and area events to use to make venues ADA compliant.
